Medication prepared for individual needs

Compounding can provide an option when a standard manufactured product is unavailable or not suitable for the prescribed treatment plan.

For prescribed testosterone therapy, our pharmacists can assess customized topical or transdermal preparations. We work with the patient and prescriber to review the requested strength, dosage form and ingredients.

What can be tailored?

Patient-specific strengths
Preparations can be made in a prescribed strength selected for the patient.
Topical and transdermal forms
When prescribed and appropriate for the medication, a cream or gel may be considered.
Oral dosage forms
Customized capsules, liquids or other forms may be available depending on the active ingredient and prescription.
Ingredient considerations
Selected non-medicinal ingredients may be adjusted when a patient has a documented sensitivity or other requirement.

A collaborative process

Evaluation and diagnosis remain with the appropriate healthcare provider. Our role is to review the prescription, confirm that the preparation is feasible and provide clear directions for use.

All compounded preparations require pharmacist review and an appropriate prescription. Availability varies by medication and formulation.
